The Indian filmmaker Tapan Sinha

Tapan Sinha was born on 2 October 1924 in Kolkota and was an Indian filmmaker. He was the most inflexible director outside the range of Parallel Cinema.Tapan studied physics at the University of Patna and later bagged an MSc at the University of Calcutta.He married Indian actress Arundhati Devi and their son is Indian scientist Professor, named Anindya Sinha. On 15 January 2009, Tapan Sinha died of pneumonia and septicaemia.

Tapan Sinha went to London in 1950’s to study filmmaking. On accomplishing London, he contacted Cry Hearsth, Manager of Pinewood Studios. Through his help, Tapan managed to get hold of his first assignment. He got to work in director Charles Cryton's unit as a Sound Engineer. Cryton, who made some British comedies such as Lavender Hill Mob and so on was then working for a movie titled The Hunted.His flicks have also won laurels in International Film Festivals of Berlin, Venice, London, Moscow, San Francisco, Locarno, Cork Festival in Ireland, Kampuchea and Seoul.

The director has also served as a member of the jury in film festivals at Tashkent and San Francisco. In his young age, Tapan Sinha was highly influenced by contemporary American and British Cinema. Among his favourite filmmakers were John Ford, Carol Reed, and Billy Wilder..Tapan Sinha's first movie, Ankush, was based on the Narayan Ganguly tale Sainik, which had an elephant as the main character. His next film Uphaar featured Uttam Kumar, Manju Dey and others. His Aadhar Periye featured Madhabi Mukherjee, Subhendu Chaterji, Sumitra Mukherjee, Anil Chaterji,

Nirmal Kumar, Subrota Chaterji, Bikash Roy, Kalyan Chaterji, Chinmoy Roy and others. It was is based on a story penned down by Chittaranjan Maity.Kabuliwallah was based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore. The stars include Radhamohan Bhattacharji, Kali Banerji and Manju De. Tinku Thakur portrays the character of the small lass in the movie, and Jiban Bose has a character as well as a jailer. Tapan Sinha's “Zindagi Zindagi” was a Bollywood movie with actor Sunil Dutt and Waheeda Rehman. Though, the film doesn’t worked at the box office possibly because the narration was too slight for Hindi viewers. Another film Aadmi Aur Aurat was based on a story by Prafulla Roy. There previous venture Murder claimed to be a grand box office success, where the hottest on-screen couple Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat’s awesome chemistry created wonders. This time as we all know that they have again came up with a different concept Murder 2 where Emraan ahs been casted in the lead role. The movie is winning all praises from the critics and has been declared as the superhit 2011 film at the box office.

While coming on the subject, the sudden huge success graph of Murder 2 has rolled up the process of working on the franchise. Filmmaker Mohit Suri has been asked to leave all other proposals and work on the next Murder movie. It has been reported that Murder 3 will now be made faster rather than later. Filmmakers' college days

It was a walk down the memory paths for Bollywood renowned filmmakers Imitiaz Ali, Abhishek Chaubey and Vishal Bhardwaj as they visited the alumni meet of their alma mater to experience again their bachelorhood at the Hindu college hostel in New Delhi University.Chandrachud Singh, warden for Hindu college and the professor of Political Science who prearranged the meet said that they have refurbished the hostel and asked the ex-hostellers to come back and live there for day.
And it was seen that three hundred students attended the meet starting from 1954 batch. Sounds amazing.Imtiaz Ali, Abhishek and Vishal Bhardwaj were all students of Hindu College, Delhi and they all also shared a hostel there. So, what all happened when all the buddies met under one roof, Chandrachud Singh asserted that there was a qawali singing assembly with a tandoor cuisine and a bar. But drinking in the hostel is strictly prohibited. Lot of sher-o-shayari also took place at the gathering. The party went on till late hours and all the students present at the Hindu college hostel enjoyed a lot.

Well, it’s hard to determine the fun they must have had more than ever after they got a pass from their wives and children to spend a night together with their friends whom they couldn’t meet for years.Just read on. Imtiaz Ali told that Vishal Bhardwaj was his senior at the college and was the one to introduce him to social drinking. To which Vishal immediately replied that he did that and now he have come back just to see if Imtiaz is continuing doing it or not.

Vishal also revealed that he stayed in the same wing for exact three long years and also remembered his room numbers. The filmmaker also stated that on their last day of the college, they all got drunk and lay down in front of the corridor and started cryin loudly because they had to leave the college. Sharing all kind of jokes, facing embarrassing situations, friendly atmosphere all were shared at the Hindu hostel and these guys enjoyed a lot.

After the grand success of 2006 release Lage Raho Munnabhai, producer-filmmaker jodi Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani had decided to make Munnabhai Chale Amerika. In the third part movie of the successful permit, Munna and Circuit, portrayed by actor Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi respectively were set to take a trip to the USA to meet the President.Now, writer-director Rajkumar Hirani who has also directed the award winning film 3 Idiots, has according to the sources edited his content completely,

and while he remained unavailable for comment, Arshad Warsi put himself forward saying that the fresh story has nothing to do with the USA or it’s President. There will be no USA in the next Munnabhai movie. As far as Arshad knows the matter, the flick’s script is completely changed. We wish that the things work in a positive way for the movie. Farhan Akhtar: Time to celebrate a decade of Dil Chahta Hai

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is a film about three young men who take a holiday that changes their lives. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, a road movie, stars Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin. It was shot largely in Spain. Kabir (Abhay Deol), Imraan (Farhan Akhtar) and Arjun (Hrithik Roshan) meet up in Barcelona and set off on an adventure that not only helps them iron out their differences but also face their fears and alter their perceptions about life.

The release of Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara had been postponed from May 30 to July 15. Commenting on this delay bollywood director Farhan Akhtar said that the movie crew are very, very happy with the film has been made. In order to get feed back the movie had showed to a couple of people and we are not in hurry to release the movie until we get 100% sure.

Piggy Chops will not be seen in 2 States

In December last year, it was reported how Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra after being signed for the lead role in Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's ‘Two States’ suddenly backed out, all thanks goes to the lead star Shahrukh Khan and his faith that the script of the movie required a talented actress. Appears as if, Bollywood baadshah has now had a change of feel. SRK not only suggested on having Priyanka on board again, but also persuaded the actress to take up the offer without thinking much.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s 7 Khoon Maaf that starred Piggy Chops playing the main lead was a dud at the box office and that could also be one of the reasons that PC decided to turn down the offer. The fact that she is a Punjabi kudi and the character was that of a South Indian girl, also worked against her. However, looks like Shahrukh Khan's reference has conquered all weirdness. But both the filmmaker and Shahrukh are convinced that Priyanka can carry on the South Indian character well. They feel she holds the flexibility. And PC will learn how to speak Tamil. Even producer Sajid Nadiadwala is influenced that Priyanka can take the role to great heights. It is a known fact that Ekta Kapoor's freshly released Marathi flick Taryanche Bait has a comparable storyline. Taryanche Bait was a father-son tale in which Sachin Khedekar's character makes a promise to his son that one day he’ll take him to a five star hotel in Mumbai and how the father struggles to accomplish his promise.

Franz Osten was a famous German film director who in association with Niranjan Pal was among the first payers of Bombay Talkies. Franz Osten collaborated with Niranjan on a number of India's previous blockbuster movies like Achhut Kanya and Jeevan Naiya. As revealed, Franz was born as Franz Ostermayr in Munichin the year 1876. The German director trained to be a photographer like his dad and gave acting an attempt. In 1907, Franz founded a wandering cinema termed as the "Original Physograph Company" together with his brother Peter Ostermayr, who later invented the antecedent to Bavaria Film Studios. Franz Osten's silent movies tell multiplicity of Indian tales. 1926 release The Light of Asia contract with the life of Buddha. A Throw of Dice was related to the myths and legends haggard from Indian epic Mahabarata. All these above mentioned films have a say to rise the understanding of eastern religions and offered a banquet for the senses by showcasing elephants in festive decoration along with thousands of extras. His big sets were perfect for evading from reality, etc.

He directed Bollywood movies like Prem Sanyaswhich was released in 1925. Then he made Shiraz released in 1928. Prapancha Pash was released in1929 and the most famous film Achhut Kanyawas released in 1936. The filmmaker died on 2nd December 1956.

Manmohan Desai

Manmohan Desai the famous director of Bollywood was said to have relationship with actress Nanda from 1992 until he died in 1994. The filmmaker had one son Ketan Desai who is a part of the film industry presently. Manmohan got his first break with the Bollywood’s 1960 release Chhalia. Bluff Master, Dharam Veer, Desh Premee were the films directed by Manmohan Desai.

Manmohan Desai was acknowledged for his family-oriented, action-song-and-dance movies which supplied to the tastes of the Indian public and through which he got fame. His movies demonstrated a new genre called masala. The filmmaker then started working with Amitabh Bachchan on Amar Akbar Anthony, Parvarish, Suhaag, Naseeb, Desh Premee, Coolie, Mard and Ganga Jamuna Saraswati; all but the last were box office successes.

He was one of the directors who had a different kind of working style with Amitabh Bachchan, the others being Yash Chopra, Prakash Mehra, Ramesh Sippy, and Hrishikesh Mukherjee. B.R. Chopra

Baldev Rai Chopra popularly known by the name of B. R. Chopra was an renowned Hindi filmmaker as well as producer. He had also made small screen daily soaps. In 1998 he received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and in 2003 he got the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. B.R. Chopra then directed Chandni Chowk, casting Meena Kumari in the lead character and the movie was released in 1954. In the year 1955, the veteran director formed his own production house, with the name B.R Films. B.R. Chopra died on 5 November 2008, when he was 84 in Mumbai.

Director Anurag Kashyap finally tied knot with his long-time girlfriend, actress Kalki Koechlin. The couple has a followed South Indian marriage, at Ooty, Tamil Nadu on spite of not having South Indian genre. On the wedding day, Actress Kalki, who was beautifully dressed in a white sari with red zari border a while Anurag was dressed in a simple white kurta and dhoti, got united under a mango tree, at 10:30 in the morning. After the success of Manish Sharma's last film Band Baaja Barat starring Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh with a strong story line. The film has been appreciated in the box office and proved a good sign in their career path. It has been speculated that the director is coming up with his new flick with the same casting Anushka and Ranveer. It is an Hindi romance comedy and the name od the film is Ladies v/s Ricky bhal directed by Manish Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The movie is set to release on December 9, 2011. The same weekend Band Baaja Barat released.

As per the close sources, the film is a romantic comedy where a charming and handsome boy played the role of Ricky Bahl (Ranveer Singh) and a blushy girl who went to see the guy's match and she is Anushka Sharma. The actor took everyone's heart away with his endearing and scintillating performance. Habib Faisal has written the dialogues, the screenplay is by Devika Bhagat. In 1975 Ramesh Sippy, the well-known face in Hindi cinema directed the blockbuster hit film Sholay which turned out to be history in Bollywood. Ramesh Sippy is completely remembered for directing “Sholay” as his other projects couldn’t touched the height of success. Dum Maaro Dum is also produced by Ramesh Sippy and directed by Rohan Sippy. The father-son combo have full expectations with Dum Maaro Dum, as Rohan Sippy has not given any superhit film so far. Ramesh Sippy’s daughter Sheena Sippy is married to Shashi Kapoor's son Kunal Kapoor. Ramesh Sippy has been married twice; his present wife is Bollywood actress Kiran Juneja. Ramesh Sippy has also directed a very booming television daily soap titled ‘Buniyaad’ which was related to the subject of India and Pakistan partition and formerly telecasted on Indian television channel Doordarshan long back in 1987.

The last three films Ramesh Sippy directed were Bhrashtachar in 1989, Akayla in 1991 and Zamana Deewana in 1995 respectively. But all these films were box office washouts. This is one Bollywood movie that has created waves in Bollywood industry since the time it was declared that a film gonna be made on the life history of South Indian actress Silk Smitha. The film is being produced by Ekta Kapoor . Filmmaker Milan Luthria confirmed it by asserting that the movie is based not only on Silk Smitha but also on her competitors like Nalini.

The entire variety of sizzling women, who hail from the South, had a rough and tough life and were sensational in appearance that they hold. The string of women saw stardom and capital, which then escorted to an empty life to live that at last ended with untimely death. When Milan Luthria was asked about roping in Bollywood’s award winning actress Vidya Balan for the lead character and he simply mentioned that, he was searching out for someone with Indian sensuality and who was a big shot too.
Vidya Balan was perfect from every point of view. Apart from donning the most hot and skimpy outfits, Vidya will also have to put on some flesh. Silk Smitha died an untimely death in 1996 and after fourteen years someone gave a final verdict to tell her story to the entire world.

Milan Luthria said that the script actually chose him. Infact Ekta Kapoor’s idea worked out, the lady had asked Milan to pen down a story based on the life of Silk Smitha. Ekta basically wanted a big and talented filmmaker to do the movie as it wasn’t a big drawing and did not have a huge budget, but when Milan read the story he was surprised. The directior told Ekta that he wanted to direct “Dirty Picture”, it was an extraordinary project and not those daily routine sour bitter flicks and that Milan wanted that nobody else should grab the chance of directing it. The filmmaker concluded by saying that the movie showcases the impression that different kind of guys had on Silk Smitha’s life which might be on the story lines of Bhumika. Vidya Balan is hitting hard to get the perfect look required for the movie. We just hope that the film gets positive reviews from the critics and all the fans out there appreciate Vidya’s work.

Shahid to work with Ramesh

The Bollywood film producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips, who launched Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor in the year 2003 romantic movie Ishq Vishk, will now work with Shahid again after their last project Fida, in 2004. This new venture will be directed by Shahid Kapoor's close buddy Siddharth Anand who has earlier directed Anjaana Anjaani. If things fall into right place, then this will be the first action thriller for the actor, whose fans have reported in a survey to be eagerly waiting to see him experimenting in this genre.

According to the sources, after the failure of Anjaana Anjaani, Siddharth Anand was supposed to direct Two States with Saif Ali Khan and Priyanka Chopra for director Sajid Nadiadwala. However, since he is no longer part of the project, he looked forward to meet Shahid Kapoor and discussed a story idea to the actor. Shahid Kapoor without giving any second thought took to the concept and now Tips has joined on-board to produce the hypothesized action flick, which will be a new experience for the actor.

Ramesh Taurani has wanted to work with Shahid Kapoor for some time now. He signed the actor a year ago and only now has the project finally fallen into place. When contacted, Ramesh Taurani confirmed the news stating that it’s true that they are doing a film with Siddharth and Shahid, which will go on floors soon. It is too early though to give any details as nothing has been finalized as yet.

Both, Shahid Kapoor and Siddharth Anand remained unavailable for comment. Siddharth Anand began his film career by helping Rahul Rawail direct his movie Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi, that starred kajol in the lead character. The filmmaker then co-wrote the 2004 hit film Hum Tum along with Kunal Kohli and also worked as an executive producer and associate filmmaker on the film

Ashwini Chaudhary to direct Ghayal sequel

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol is going to give life to his home banner Vijeta Films and that too with a sequel to his 1990 blockbuster hit film Ghayal. However, this time around filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who directed the original part Sunny Deol has opted for Ashwini Chaudhary to make the sequel. The film is all set to go on the floors, this November. “Ghayal”, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi in the late 1990 bagged Sunny Deol with the only Best Actor award of his career.

But later both Sunny and Rajkumar Santoshi had a fall following some misunderstandings regarding the film Bhagat Singh. And though the two had patched up, it looks like Sunny isn't ready to forgive the director completely. While Tigmanshu Dhulia was also being considered for directing the big project, with actress Karisma Kapoor making her comeback with the movie, the project finally has gone to Ashwini. As for the story, the original Ghayal ended with Sunny Deol being caught by the police officers. The sequel is expected to narrate what happens when he comes out of jail. After a six-year fallout since Jo Bole So Nihaal which was released in 2005, Rahul Rawail and Sunny Deol have decided to forget their problems and work together again.

It is said that Rahul Rawail has made some of his best movies with Sunny like Betaab, Arjun, Yodha and Arjun Pandit. After their last film together, rumours were abuzz about problems growing between the two. However, moving ahead with smooth relationship, the two easily resolved their misunderstandings.
When asked about their sour relationship, Rawail said that every actor and director goes through this phase. However both of them didn’t had any issues. Showman to make a documentary on Anand Bakshi

Known as the Showman of Hindi cinema, renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai is looking forward to make a documentary on the life and times of noted lyricist late Anand Bakshi. The director mentioned that though he remember Anand Bakshi every day, but this is the time when Anand Bakshi left the Bollywood industry with a lot of memories, great thoughts and most inspiring songs to remember and cherish.

The director is contemplating to make a documentary on his life and work this year. Today, is the ninth death anniversary of the music composer, who penned the lyrics of several of Ghai's movies. Subhash Ghai said that Anand Bakshi is an inspiration to new talent and society. The two have shared a great bond both in their professional and personal lives, and have worked together on flicks like Yaadein, Pardes and Trimurti, etc. Born in Rawalpindi, Anand Bakshi was a perfect choice as a lyricist for many Bollywood directors, having penned down Dum Maaro Dum in Dev Anand's Hare Rama Hare Krishna. Anand Bakshi had also written lyrics for the first movies of stars like Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff and Rishi Kapoor among others. Anand Bakshi always wanted to be a singer and he fulfilled his desire by singing the duet 'Baaghon Mein Bahaar Aayi' along with Lata Mangeshkar in the 1972 Bollywood movie ‘Mom ki Gudiya’.

Anand also sung some lines of 'Ke Aaja Teri Yaad Aayi' from the Ramanand Sagar film Charas. Anand Bakshi's last film as lyricist was in the much delayed 2008 flick Mehbooba, for which he had worked before he died on 30 March 2002 at the age of 81. Abhi-Aish in Rajkumar Santoshi’s next

The latest news is that filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi’s chief assistant director Anand Srivastav, will soon be wearing the director’s cap. The film will be produced by Vipin Anand’s Flagship India. The movie is a comedy and will be shot in Mumbai and a village in Bhopal.

Anand Srivastav said that this is his first film and he is very excited about it. The script is almost ready and he will be starting shoot on the project as early as possible. However, Anand Srivastatv did not revealed the cast of the movie. He said that he’s already approaching stars and things will be finalised within ten days as assumed. He also said that will also be assisting Rajkumar Santoshi on the upcoming movies ‘Power’ and ‘Ladies and Gentleman’. Anand further added that he can't reveal much about the movie. Whereas, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai will soon seen as on-screen couple in Rajkumar Santoshi’s romantic comedy,“Ladies and Gentlemen”, which will go on floors in July as speculated.

Aishwarya met Rajkumar Santoshi a week ago and he told her that before she start giving her dates to other producers, the filmmaker first wanted to finalise the deal with the couple as Abhishek and Aishwarya are his dream pair since a long time. The actress have liked this script. Ladies and Gentlemen will be the star couple’s ninth movie together. Their last film together was Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, which bombed at the box office. And since their marriage, the couple has been suspicious of over- exposing brand Bachchan, maintaining that they’d work together only when a movie would offer them something new and challenging.

Earlier, Aishwarya had opted out of Dostana, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and Game. More recently, she had also refused a Vipul Shah film opposite her husband, suggesting he cast Katrina Kaif instead. In the year 2008, she had Jodhaa Akbar and Sarkar Raj. In 2009, Aishwarya was fitting in between the Hollywood flick, The Pink Panther 2, Raavan and the Tamil film, Raavanan. When you are known by the surname Sippy and that Ramesh Sippy's and GP Sippy have made hit films like Seeta Aur Geeta, Shaan, Shakti and Sholay, your career can’t swing in air. Rohan Sippy knew there was nothing else he wanted to do. He have never felt ardently about anything besides filmmaking.

After spending some years learning the gimmicks, Rohan Sippy directed his first feature ‘Kuch Naa Kaho’ in the year 2003. He followed it up with Abhishek Bachchan starrer ‘Bluffmaster’ in 2005. On April 22 the director will witness the release of his upcoming film “Dum Maaro Dum”. So, here’s a question that what was Rohan Sippy doing over the last five years. To this the ace filmmaker answered that he produced a couple of movies like Taxi 9211, The President Is Coming, Chandni Chowk to China, etc. There was no real reason for taking so long time to make a come back, except that everything had to fall at right palce.

When writers Shridhar Raghavan recoiled the idea for the thriller that became “Dum Maaro Dum”, it automatically felt right. Rohan Sippy is excited because he has followed a multifarious description composition with this film. He said that this was one reason, also things were difficult because they were working with an ensemble cast; for the kind of approach they have taken to the shoot, all the unseen effects and postproduction, it needed more time in thinking and executing things. Set in Goa, the movie is based on three stories meeting at a point in the first half, and then moving ahead.

The first story is about Prateik Babbar, a student, who gets attracted into doing things he would not normally do. Abhishek Bachchan is a cop responsible for cleaning up the scene and taking on those behind it. The third is a musician, portrayed by Rana Daggubati. Whereas, Bipasha Basu is another main character. All these characters have some sins in their past that they have to pay for. That emotion plays out through the flick. While there are reports of ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ being remade, would Rohan Sippy consider remaking any of his father's movies? While, the filmmaker openly refused the offer saying that he doesn't think he have a way of making them better.

Abhishek Bachchan stated that as a director, Rohan is not the Rohan who directed the earlier two films Bluffmaster and Kuch Naa Kaho. If the actor have to generalise, then it is just confidence that made him so much so successful. Abhishek also added that Rohan Sippy is at the top of his game. So the star saw a huge difference, in him and also that Rohan’s moustache had become slightly shorter and his glasses had become smaller. We hope that Dum Maaro Dum turns out to be a great success.

Sajid New Plans

Taking a look at the coming up projects under Sajid Nadiadwala’s production house it has been witnessed that the famous producer has lined up as much as five mega budget projects. It has been learnt that Sajid will cast Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan in his three different films.

Akshay Kumar is already shooting for Sajid in 'Housefull 2' directed by Sajid Khan, then Salman Khan will be seen doing Shirish Kunder's film. Also writer Chetan Bhagat’s latest novel ‘2 States’ is being made into a movie, and as reported the movie will have Shahrukh Khan in the male lead and Vishal Bhardwaj will be the head of the ship, now the news is not fake that it will be produced under Nadiadwala Grand Sons Banner. Sajid told that he cannot disclose the details on SRK and Hrithik's project at present. The team is actively working on them. News is also revolving that famous love story of 'Heer Ranjha' will be brought to the silver screen and Sajid Nadiadwala will be producing it. Directors and producers are running on their toes to find a very different and catchy title track for their film, director Sajid Khan has reportedly discharged the song from ‘Housefull 2’.

Similar like Heyy Babyy whose title track topped the charts, ‘Housefull’ did not have any such title track. Keeping that in mind, ‘Housefull 2′ will not have any title track too. Housefull 2 cast includes Akshay Kumar, the cute guy Riteish Deshmukh, the real hunk John Abraham, Southern siren Asin, Dhanno Jacqueline Fernandez and Randhir and Rishi Kapoor. Hang on guys, Rajkumar Hirani is not turning to a politician but the filmmaker’s ad company Vanvas Films has recently made an ad titled ‘Bharat Bandh’- The first IPL ad of this season The ad campaign has been directed by ‘Quickgun Murugun’ director Shashank Ghosh and showcased the funny talks between the politicians across the country over who initiated the Bharat Bandh for 51 days.

Canvas Films head ad division Sanjeev Kishinchandani said that the concept of the advertisment is that there is confusion between politicians across the country that who has announced the 51 days Bharat Bandh and every one rubbished the buzz when they finally realized that Bharat will be closed for 51 days automatically due to IPL, that’s the fever of IPL in India. The filmmaker has decided to rope in Aamir Khan in his upcoming project. Aamir had worked with the director earlier in 3 Idiots, which was declared as the successful hit of the year.

Arshad Warsi seems to be in full swing as the funny character, ‘Circuit’, in Rajkumar Hirani’s Munnabhai series made the actor a household name, but Arshad Warsi is tired of doing comedy and is scouting for serious roles now. Some interesting facts about the filmmaker states that after FTII Rajkumar Hirani tried his luck as film editor for many years. He was also seen in a Fevicol advertisement where some men and elephants are trying to pull and break a fevicol plank saying "Jor laga ke Haisha".

He was seen doing good in advertisement business but the director wanted to make films so he took break from advertisement and started working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Madhur’s Heroine Shelved

Ace filmmaker who have enthralled the audiences with his successful films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion, etc and with his recent release Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, which was a romantic-comedy genre flick now Madhur Bhandarkar's forthcoming project Hroine continues to make news all around.

After Kareena Kapoor opted out of the film, it has been reported that Madhur Bhandarkar has decided to cast either Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Katrina Kaif in the lead role.Rumours have it that the Bollywood director is expected to discuss the general idea of the subject to Aishwarya Rai, before he meets Katrina Kaif. But the director however denies the news openly. Madhur asserted that still he has to decide what to make next. Therefore, the question of casting Aishwarya or Katrina doesn't stand anywhere. In fact, Madhur haven't even approached any of the actressess for the project. He also said that he is still thinking on what to make next. Siddharth Anand is an Bollywood filmaker who is the son of film producer Bittu Anand who produced the Amitabh Bachchan superhit film, Shahenshah. Siddharth Anand's grandfather was screenwriter named Indra Raj Anand who wrote 120 movies including Safar, Sangam and Ek Duje Ke Liye.

Siddharth Anand began his film career by helping Rahul Rawail in directing his movie Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi, that featured Kajol and Suniel Shetty in the lead role. The director then co-wrote the 2004 hit film “Hum Tum” that starred Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee along with director Kunal Kohli and Siddharth ahs also worked as an executive producer and associate director on the film. At the age of 27, Siddharth Anand directed ‘Salaam Namaste’ loosely based on Jeff Goldblum starrer ‘Nine Months’, featuring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead characters.

The movie became one of the biggest hits of the year 2005 and it helped the director to establish himself as a flawless director in the Hindi film industry. Siddharth Anand's second project, Ta Ra Rum Pum was released in April 2007. The movie starred Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerjee and was a semi hit at the box office. His third film Bachna Ae Haseeno having Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor as the cast got released on 15 August 2008. The budget is the most important part in deciding the success or failure of a movie. Since the 2001 hit flick Chandni Bar to the recent romantic comedy Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, the filmmaker pointed out that although the subject has been different, his habit of controlling the budget hasn`t changed over of time.

Once, an actor was being approached to sign a film, which he didn`t want to. To get rid of them the actor demanded Rs 25 crore for the movie, thinking they won`t call him anymore. But the next day, the corporate house came to him with his signing amount stated the director. Since then his issue-based films like Page 3, Traffic Signal, Jail, Fashion, Corporate and Satta have got Madhur two more National Film Awards. The movie is being made for free and it is speculated that the shooting of the film will be complete in five days. Ram Gopal Varma have stated that no character in this film including the actors, technicians and equipments suppliers are going to be paid any single penny. Actor Ravi Teja, Charmy Kaur, Prakash Raj, Lakshmi Manchu, Brahmanandam and others featured in the movie. The movie will be released on March 04, 2011.

YRF has not worked with Salman so far but now Aditya wants Sallu to join the YRF gang. The YRF banner is closing in to sign a deal with Salman and he may ink the dotted lines soon.

The earlier speculation was that filmmaker Kabir Khan wanted to work with Salman and even spoke with the actor about a possible venture under the YRF banner. So what has made Aditya so desperate to work with our Chulbul Pandey? Aditya Chopra, understands business gimmicks too well and knows that Salman is no longer the touch me not Khan for the YRF as after ‘Dabanng’ he can rnake quite a lot of money. Madhur with a different script this time

During an interview with a renowned channel few days back, ace Bollywood director Madhur Bhandarkar took the microphone of the channel and started interviewing the stars of his upcoming film Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji. Emraan Hashmi and Ajay Devgn were supposed to be on the other side being grilled by the filmmaker, but the actors interrogated the director instead. But all this was done is good humour. Madhur Bhandarkar asked Ajay about his character in the movie DTBHJ. To this Ajay replied that the director of the movie asked him to act like him completely.

He wanted Ajay to play him, a 38-years-old falling in love with a 20-years-old. Hearing this Emraan Hashmi cracked up and the director was shocked and started laughing. When Emraan was asked the same question by Madhur, Emraan immediately asked Madhur to ask a sizzling question. Emraan was asked by Ajay whether the director taught him how to kiss in the movie? To this the star answered that as everyone knows that Madhur makes realistic cinema and he wanted to add his touch to everything. So even though Emraan knew how to kiss on screen he used to show him how to kiss each actress. The trio could not stop laughing for as long as the interview lasted. Rajkumar proposes Rani

Rajkumar worked hard on NOKJ

Considering the movie's sensitive issue, the director of No One Killed Jessica Rajkumar Gupta revealed that it took him three months to complete research on the real life incident of Jessica Lall, and seven months for penning down the script.

Having fear with the controversies, Rajkumar Gupta clarified that the purpose of using real names in the flick is not with an intention to lay blame on anyone, rather the concept is his interpretation of the case. Talking about his forthcoming flick, the filmmaker asserted that this factor did come to his mind earlier. So Rajkumar tried to approach the film with as much sensitivity as possible. NOKJ, a case which releases on January 7, 2011, is basically based on the real life story of New Delhi based model Jessica Lall, who was shot on the spot by Manu Sharma, son of a prominent Haryana politician.

Apparently, Rajkumar Gupta had a tough time while scripting the story as there were so many characters involved that he did not want the story to mess up. Rajkumar also clarified that Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan shared good time with each other and have great fun while shooting..

Still riding high on the success of his Moner Manush, Bengali filmmaker Gautam Ghose announced that his next venture would be a bilingual in English and Hindi about a displaced child. The director said that his next film 'Lala' is about a displaced child and his incredible energy and endurance for life.

The filmmakers "Moner Manush" had bagged the Golden Peacock award at the recent International Film Festival of India at Goa. The film was based on Sunil Gangopadhya's 2008 novel Moner Manush. It revolves around the life and philosophy of Lalon Fakir, a 19th century Bengali philosopher poet. The lead role was played by noted Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee. The film deals with his teachings, his separation from his family and creation of a settlement in a forest, including people who have been pushed out of their society and family.

Hits or flops, there is no stopping for filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. The director is again all set to portray another tale from Andhra Pradesh which is a take on the dishonorable Bejawada Rowdyilu (Vijayawada rowdies) after his Rakta Charitra, the director is however leaving no stone unturned for his next project.

I think you remember that RGV was threatened with awful consequences if he went ahead with the project. A host of personalities, that also included top politicians, was against what they call an attempt to paint a sorry picture about the city, where hooliganism ruled settled once. Though there was rigid opposition to Rakta Charitra too, but the heat Bejawada Rowdyilu have was no match. Ram Gopal Varma recently went to a Vijayawada college, with a aim to gather support from the students for the movie. When RGV visited V R Siddartha Engineering College, he thundered if he had the backing of the student community, no one could stop him from making the film.

Sooner it was noticed that Ram Gopal Varma was accompanied by Vijayawada MP Lagdapati Rajagopal, who offered his support. Despite requests, Ram Gopal Varma didn’t found it appropriate to reveal the star cast. Most big stars in Telugu have openly expressed their willingness to work with the director. At an event, South Indian actor Nagarjuna had requested the filmmaker to cast him in the movie. What RGV gonna do no one knows. Just wait and watch!!!

The movie was almost ready to go on floors with only minor characters that were left to be filled along with the part for the leading heroine.

However, it is stated that the flick schedule has been thrown out of line, as Ajay Devgan will no longer be part of it. Siddharth Anand, Bollywood director who delivered a unique film titled Anjaana Anjaani has reportedly split with Sajid Nadiadwala, at least temporarily. Sajid Nadiadwala was to make Chetan Bhagat's Two States with Siddharth Anand.

He was even contemplating paying the director a huge fee. However, Sajid will concentrate instead on making Heer Ranjha with Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone; Kick with Sonakshi Sinha and Salman Khan and the Houseful sequel with Akshay Kumar respectively. Siddharth apparently wishes to go ahead and make Two States with actor Saif Ali Khan.

Abhinay Deo’s Game will be released soon

Eros International Media Ltd, India's largest integrated film studio, has announced the release dates of some forthcoming movies like Abhinay Deo's Game and Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. While Game will release on 18th March 2011, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara will hit silver screens on 27th May 2011.

Eros International had recently announced that it had acquired the worldwide rights of these two flicka. Game, full of twists and turns, features style icon Abhishek Bachchan, absolutely sizzling Kangana Ranaut, Sarah Jane Dias, Jimmy Sheirgill, Shahana Goswami, Gauhar Khan, Boman Irani and the multi-talented actor Anupam Kher. ‘Game’ is a slick edge-of-the-seat thriller, has been directed by Abhinay Deo and has penned by Farhan Akhtar. Kunal ropes in Shahid for his next

For days, it was just a guesswork that Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is being approached by director Kunal Kohli for his next. Now, it’s no more a rumor as the filmmaker, who turned producer with his recent release ‘Break Ke Baad’, confirmed the news on his Twitter page on Sunday that Shahid would be doing a film with him.

Kunal Kohli tweeted that, “Shahid Kapoor and me working together in my next film. I’m really looking forward to working with Shahid.” Kunal also stated that since Shahid Kapoor is currently stucked up with the shooting of his father’s directorial debut film ‘Mausam’, he has decided to start shooting for his yet-to-be-titled flick sometime in April 2011 as the actor is expected to be free then. The director wants to rope in Priyanka Chopra to play the lead role in the film. When asked Shahid about working with Kunal he said that he too is excitedly looking forward to the day when he will start working with the talented filmmaker.

Yash Chopra Will Inaugurate IFFI 2010

Director Yash Chopra a well known Bollywood director inaugurated the 41st International Film Festical of India (IFFI) which was held from November 22 until the 2nd of December. The IFFI 2010 is a ten-day festical with the chief guest South Superstar Vikram at the closing ceremony.

Rumors have circulated that some big superstars will inaugurate the film festival, it was later confirmed that Yash Chopra is set to open it. It is expected that Raima sen is going to do the ceremonial light up. There is also a rumor going on that some big names are also going to attend such as Bengali superstar Prosenjit, Manoj Bajpayee, Rahul Bose, Raj Babbar, Manisha Koirala and South actress Padmapriya. According to a senior official of the festival organizers, Hollywood director Ang Lee will also show up in the event. He is in India for his

upcoming film dubbed as Life of Pi. The movie is being shot in Goa. Chopra has given countless of hours in the entertainment industry and continues to do so with his production house Yash Raj Films. There is not going to be any Khan in the film festival this year but there are plenty of good films to watch. The festival flagged off in Goa and many of big Bollywood names came and are expected to attend the festival.

There will be a total of 18 films that will compete this year which includes two Indian entries- Vhir and Just Another Love Story. Actor Revathy Menon is among the five-member international jury that will be headed by Jerzy Antczak. The authorities are also tight-lipped about the selection of films for the World Cinema category however Om Puri’s Webst Is West is bound to be the opening film.

The Indian Panorama has a total of 47 films with 26 features. The opening film will be Mee Sindhu Tai Sapkal which is directed by Anant Mahadevan. While Leaving home, which is based on the musical band Indian Ocean is going to be the opening film salvo in the non-feature film category. The band will also perform at the festival.

Subhash Ghai to work with Big B

The ace director Subhash Ghai has always said he would love to work with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. According to the respective sources it has been found that both Subhash Ghai and Abbas-Mustan are quite interested to work with the fame of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan. Subhash Ghai on the other side had announced a movie named ‘Devaa’ with Big B and Madhuri Dixit way back in the late 1980s. On a sad note, the film was shelved after shooting for a couple of days.

Knock Out is a political thriller

Bollywood filmmaker Mani Shankar has always been known for his original movies like 16 December, Mukhbiir and Rudraksh. Showing his rude reactions to the plagiarism charges against his recent release Knock Out featuring Irrfan Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Kangana Ranaut.

Mani Shankar told that first of all just because his film shows some shots of a man in a phone booth being targeted by a man with a gun, it doesn't mean that he have made Phone Booth. Defending himself the director said that Phone Booth itself is a copy of Kari Skogland's ‘Liberty Stands Still’.

So Mani Shankar doesn’t see how charges of plagiarism can be targeted at them when the movie is itself not the epitome of originality. L. K. Advani too watched Knock Out in Delhi and found that the film is quite refreshing. Mani concluded by asserting that Knock Out is a multi-layered political thriller about a real scam that nearly ruined our nation.

Yash Chopra felicitated with National Kishore Kumar Award

The most personified filmmaker Yash Chopra has been honoured with the National Kishore Kumar award by the Madhya Pradesh government for the year 2009-10. State Cultural Minister Laxmikant Sharma gave away the award at a ceremony held at late actor-singer Kishore Kumar's birthplace Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh Octtober 13 which also happened to be his 23rd death anniversary.

Yash Chopra, who made movies like Waqt, Deewaar, Kabhi Kabhie, Silsila, Dil To Pagal Hai and Veer-Zaara to his credit, was feeling very happy at receiving this award. The Kishore Kumar award, given in fields of direction, acting, script writing and lyrics every year, was instituted by the Madhya Pradesh government in 1997. Bollywood celebrities like Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Gulzar, Shyam Benegal and Amitabh Bachchan had received the same award before.

Siddharth Anand bought the rights of 2 States

The awesome filmmaker Siddharth Anand, whose latest movie Anjaana Anjaani that featured Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles is running in the theatres and earning good collections. Siddharth reportedly has bought out the right of Chetan Bhagat’s latest novel ‘2 States.’

The director is ready to make a flick based on the book with Saif Ali Khan playing the lead role. The director even mentioned that he bought the book and fell in love with it's contents at once. Siddharth soon contacted Chetan Bhagat who was then planning of selling the rights with some producers. But after a meeting, Bhagat was impressed with Siddharth Anand so much so that he decided to sell him the rights.

The movie which is said to be a contemporary comedy, will be shot all over India including places like Ahmedabad, Goa and Delhi too. The flick is most probably going to be produced by none other than Sajid Nadiawala. Siddharth Anand has earlier directed films like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Ta Ra Rum Pum and Salaam Namaste. Shekhar Kapoor to shoot in China

Bollywood fimmaker Shekhar Kapoor has been visiting to China too frequently these days. And the latest news is making rounds in the town that he is making these regular tours for shooting his forthcoming epic Paani overthere.

Filmimg in Mumbai is now ruled out since the script of Shekhar Kapoor’s movie requires him and his art director to construct Mumbai with two sharply demarcated sections: The Upper City and The Lower City. Love and fight is seen when the boy from the lower city peeps into the upper city.

Shekhar Kapoor has visited China at least thrice already this year. The first and the last Bollywood movie to be shot in China was Nikhil Advani’s Chandni Chowk To China that featured Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar. Shekhar also asserted that definitely he'll be starting Paani next year. The team is fully into the pre-production stage.

YRF’s comes with Band Baajaa Baaraat

Yash Raj Films (YRF) upcoming movie Band Baajaa Baaraat featuring Anushka Sharma and debutant Ranveer Singh in the lead roles will be released on December 10, 2010. Milap Zaveri to cast Jacqueline in his next film

Bollywood director Milap Zaveri's Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai was although a dull attempt. However the director has already planned his next film with Jacqueline and Ritesh Deshmukh in his mind. While Jacqueline has already liked the story, Milap Zaveri had planned it earlier to narrate the script to Ritesh soon.

The director asserted that the movie will be a complete entertainer for sure and he have already signed Jacqueline to play the lead. After working in Jaane kahan Se Aayi Hai with the actress, the director said that he’s pretty much convinced that she fits the part perfectly. Also, he wants Ritesh Deshmukh as the lead hero for the film. Milap Zaveri also said that he wants to make every single movie with Ritesh Deshmukh. And as far as Jacqueline Fernandes is concerned, she's become a part of his extended family.

Yash Chopra turns 78

Yash Chopra was born on the 27th September 1932 in Lahore, Pakistan. Yash Chopra is married to Pamela and has two sons, Aditya Chopra who is a director and Uday Chopra, an actor. The director turned 78 yesterday. Yash Chopra is one of the most leading directors in the film fraternity.

The director ruled highest during the 70’s when he teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan to deliver some commendable work with Deewar, Silsila and much later with Shahrukh Khan in Dil To Pagal Hai and Darr. Yash Chopra’s films have a good amount of love, brilliant and polished actors, catchy music and beautiful settings. Yash Chopra’s directorial debut was under his brother’s banner B.R Films in 1959 to 1969 with the 1959 film Dhool Ka Phool.

The other movies he made with his brother were Waqt (1965) and Ittefaq (1969). All the movies were successful at the box office and earned lot of acclaim. In 1973 to 1979 Yash Chopra set up Yash Raj Films (YRF) and his first movie under his banner was Daag which was released in 1973. ‘Daag’ was basically an adaptation of Hardy’s Mayor of Casterbridge and featured Rajesh Khanna, Rakhee and Sharmila Tagore in the lead roles and the director even won the Filmfare Best director Award for the movie…

Yash Chopra’s directorial debut was under his brother’s banner B.R Films in 1959 to 1969 with the movie Dhool Ka Phool (1959). Crook's promos leaked

Directed by Mohit Suri and Emraan Hashmi starrer upcoming movie Crook-It’s Good To Be Bad has fallen into big trouble as the reports reveal. Yes! the promos of the movie have been leaked online before it's official release in October. Crook deals with the racist attacks on Indian people living in Australia.

Mahesh Bhatt, the producer of the film, has planned to reshoot the entire promo sequence. In a statement, Mukesh Bhatt stated that the leaked promo carried the most important dialogues and sequences and they were planning to release it only close the release of the film but he was shocked to see the promos on YouTube.

An unknown source uploaded the promo on YouTube. Director Mohit Suri said that the release date of the film is coming closer and the movie stars debutant Neha Sharma Emraan Hashmi and Arjan Bajwa.

Sanjay Gupta to become Paa

The famous Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, has a great reason to celebrate. Sanjay and his wife Anu are expecting their first child in April 2011. Soon going to become dad, Sanjay Gupta said that they are waiting to share this happiest moment with their family and buddies.

The director also mentioned that their first baby will be an Arian, just like him. His wife just laughs by saying that she has to prepare herself to handle two kids than.
Sanjay Gupta will be launching his next production soon and he mentioned that things had been a little different related to home and work.

On last Wednesday Bollywood film 3 Idiots was declared the most popular movie that provided wholesome entertainment at the 57th National Film Awards and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said that it was a very proud moment for his production house. Do you know that it is Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's third national honour as director and producer respectively.

Earlier, their movies Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai too had won the national award. Rajkumar Hirani on this overwhelming news quoted, “it’s extremely humbling when the audience loved and cherised this film so much and now we are also getting recognised by getting a National Award."Swanand Kirkire was declared the Best Lyricist for penning the beautiful song Behti hawa sa for 3 Idiots. Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots had broken all records by grossing over Rs.450 crore.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra who just returned from the US where he was working on pre-production of his next movie, was very happy to be welcomed in such a way with this great news. Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani also played pivotal roles in the film.

RGV to make cop flick

Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is busy these days with his new project. The director is actually making a sequel to his 2002 film Department that was itself a prequel to the Nana Patekar’s starrer Ab Tak Chhapan.

The movie revolves around encounter specialists who fall apart following a fight between dons who they owe their loyalty to. The filmmaker wants to cast Pradeep Sharma, Vijay Salaskar, Daya Nayak and Sachin Vaze, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan playing the cops while the megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be playing the role of a senior cop.

The twist that comes in the film is when Sanjay Dutt, who plays the role of Pradeep Sharma and Ajay Devgan who plays Daya Nayak, forces others in the department including Abhishek Bachchan who plays Sachin Vaze to take sides. What else follows remains the bottom line of the film.
