A royal ignorance

Rani Mukherjee recently insulted her boyfriend Bollywood filmmaker Aditya chopra’s father and famous studio owner Yash Chopra at an awards ceremony. The actress as reported ignored the producer twice in front of bystanders. Rani Mukherjee is currently dating the divorced Aditya Chopra.

However, the Chopra parivaar are still interested on Aditya reuniting with his ex-wife Payal. On the alleged insult, the family said that everyone who walked past Yash Chopra spoke to him paying full respect. However, Rani did not make any such efforts.

Aditya wants Salman

Salman Khan is the man in demand it seems. The actor after giving the successful film Dabaang is now finding himself in high demand these days. Salman, who has recently hosted Bigg Boss Season 4 has already his hand full for the year 2011, if his brother Arbaaz Khan is to be believed.


As the producer of ‘Dabanng’, Arbaaz Khan wanted to launch the sequel of the movie this year, but has to shift it to 2012 as Salman Khanhas his packed for the year. But there is another buzz floating around that Aditya Chopra might rope in Salman in for one of Yash Raj Film’s next projects. YRF has not worked with Salman so far but now Aditya wants Sallu to join the YRF gang. The YRF banner is closing in to sign a deal with Salman and he may ink the dotted lines soon.

The earlier speculation was that filmmaker Kabir Khan wanted to work with Salman and even spoke with the actor about a possible venture under the YRF banner. So what has made Aditya so desperate to work with our Chulbul Pandey? Aditya Chopra, understands business gimmicks too well and knows that Salman is no longer the touch me not Khan for the YRF as after ‘Dabanng’ he can rnake quite a lot of money. But even if the rumors are spreading, there’s no confirmation about such projects have come from neither YRF camp nor Salman Khan.

Aamir to work with Aditya Chopra

According to the sorces, it has been said that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan may not sign up for Dhoom 3. The reason behind this is that Aditya Chopra is keen to start the film this October, while Aamir Khan can’t start shooting for another movie till February 2011.


Now that Peepli Live has become a commercial hit, Aamir Khan wants to focus on the post-production of his wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut, Dhobi Ghat. Since the actor is planning to release the movie this winter, he can’t take up any acting assignment for now. According to other sources, it has been learnt that Aamir is believed to have conveyed his wish of working in Aditya Chopra’s next as a director. It still remains a secret that whether Aamir and Aditya collaborate or not….

Shaad Ali the real Hanuman

In Mani Ratnam’s Raavana, Govinda plays Hanuman, while Vikram, the star from the south, plays Ram. After directing films like Saathiya, and Bunty Aur BubliJhoom Barabar Jhoom, Shaad Ali should ideally be concentrating on getting his next with Yash Raj Films. Instead, Shaad prioritised his mentor Mani Ratnam’s film and rushed to the south to assist him.




Shaad Ali’s involvement goes deeper than the professional commitment. He also plays Mani’s nursemaid and right-hand man. When Mani Ratnam was hospitalised for his heart problem, Shaad Ali was at his bedside constantly.

As far as his YRF film is concerned, it was supposed to take off early next year. Mani Ratnam’s health has delayed that project. An unperturbed Shaad has informed Aditya Chopra to push back the plans as well. Shaad’s new film has three heroes and three heroines, newcomers in all probability.

Aditya Chopra got fame when he directed Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. The film was and still is one of the biggest box office hits in the Hindi film industry. Than Aditya came with another blockbuster hit Dil To Pagal Hai in 1997, which he co-produced and co-wrote.








Aditya in 2000 directed Mohabbatein. For the first time Chopra brought Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan together.In 2002,Chopra's film "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai"won the hearts of the people. 2004 was an excellent year for Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj Films, when they had three hits with "Hum Tum", "Dhoom" and "Veer-Zaara".In 2005 "Bunty Aur Babli", "Salaam Namaste" and "Neal N Nikki" were released. Aditya produced Fanaa, "Dhoom 2", and "Kabul Express" and all were released in 2006. "Tara Rum Pum" was a semi-hit at the Box office that came in 2007. After 8 long years, in 2008 Aditya directed and also produced the movie "Rab Ne Bana Di jodi".
