Bollywood Directors at Specials @ 10 on Sony Tv

Well… there are not judging a Reality Show or making a special appearance on TV. This is novel and serious stuff that we are talking. For the first time on the Indian television, Bollywood’s four celebrated movie makers, Madhur Bhandarkar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Vikram Bhatt and Anurag Kashyap, are presenting short films especially made for the small screen viewers.

This format, known as ‘mini-series’ is popular in the West and has never been tried on the Indian television before. The treatment of these stories has been in the form of short films, which would be finished in 12 weeks . Sanjay Upadhyay, Creative Head (Fiction), Sony Entertainment Television (SET) informed that this 12-week series will be telecast on Sony TV from Monday to Thursday at 10 pm. The series had been named ‘Specials @ 10′ and is on air from March 2.

While three of the directors Bhandarkar, Kashyap and Bhatt - are involved in three separate 12-part stories , Manjrekar is involved with a series of twelve different stories. The concept of the series is not the regular TV stuff. In the heart of all the stories, lies the pain of women. But they are more close to the real Indian women and breaks all taboos.

The show will be in complete contrast from regular television content, and this will break the clutter and bring in new-age content for our
