Talented-Karan Johar

Bollywood Director-

Karan Johar was born May 25, 1972 in Mumbai, India. Karan is an Indian film director, producer, and TV celebrity. Karan Johar is one of the most successful young filmmakers in Bollywood. Johar studied at the Greenlawns High School and attended H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. Karan received a Masters degree in French. As a child, Karan was influenced by commercial Indian cinema and Karan cites Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra and Sooraj R. Barjatya as his inspirations. Johar formally entered the film industry as an actor. Karan potrayed as a close friend of Shahrukh Khan in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995).

Johar was also assistant director on this film and helped director Aditya Chopra in writing the screenplay for this film.
Johar made his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. The film won eight Filmfare Awards in 1998 including Best Movie, Best Director and all four Best Actor awards for both leading and supporting roles. Johar's second directorial effort was the family drama, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham that was released in 2001. This movie also won five Filmfare Awards and was highly successful.

In the year 2003 Johar's made "Kal Ho Naa Ho", that was directed by Nikhil Advani.Karan Johar's 2005 Shahrukh Khan film, 'Kaal' was directed by Soham Shah,who was Karan's director from "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham". After taking a four-year break from directing in May 2005, Johar began working on his third film as a director and fourth film as writer; "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna". Karan is currently working in Los Angeles on his 2009 release, 'My Name is Khan'. Johar is also the host of a television chat show called "Koffee with Karan" commissioned by Star World, in which Johar interviews renowned celebrities from Bollywood and India's glamour world.

Awards-
In the year 1999 Karan Johar got the Best Director and Best Sreenplay (Filmfare Award)for the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. And in 2002 Johar won the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue for the film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Karan Johar also recieved two IIFA Awards,one in the year 2001 for Best Costume Designer for Mohabbatein and Best Dialogue award in 2002 for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Karan was also the winner of the Star Screen Awards in the year 1999 for Best Director for the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Best Screenplay Award for Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2004.

The most talented, brilliant Presenter, Filmmaker, Director, Producer, Story Writer, Dialogue Writer, Screenplay Writer, Costume Designer and what not. Karan is a perfectionist. To be successful moving up the ladder matters and Karan has proved it very well !!!
