Yash Chopra Will Inaugurate IFFI 2010

Director Yash Chopra a well known Bollywood director inaugurated the 41st International Film Festical of India (IFFI) which was held from November 22 until the 2nd of December. The IFFI 2010 is a ten-day festical with the chief guest South Superstar Vikram at the closing ceremony.

Yash ChopraRumors have circulated that some big superstars will inaugurate the film festival, it was later confirmed that Yash Chopra is set to open it. It is expected that Raima sen is going to do the ceremonial light up. There is also a rumor going on that some big names are also going to attend such as Bengali superstar Prosenjit, Manoj Bajpayee, Rahul Bose, Raj Babbar, Manisha Koirala and South actress Padmapriya. According to a senior official of the festival organizers, Hollywood director Ang Lee will also show up in the event. He is in India for his

upcoming film dubbed as Life of Pi. The movie is being shot in Goa. Chopra has given countless of hours in the entertainment industry and continues to do so with his production house Yash Raj Films. There is not going to be any Khan in the film festival this year but there are plenty of good films to watch. The festival flagged off in Goa and many of big Bollywood names came and are expected to attend the festival.

There will be a total of 18 films that will compete this year which includes two Indian entries- Vhir and Just Another Love Story. Actor Revathy Menon is among the five-member international jury that will be headed by Jerzy Antczak. The authorities are also tight-lipped about the selection of films for the World Cinema category however Om Puri’s Webst Is West is bound to be the opening film.

The Indian Panorama has a total of 47 films with 26 features. The opening film will be Mee Sindhu Tai Sapkal which is directed by Anant Mahadevan. While Leaving home, which is based on the musical band Indian Ocean is going to be the opening film salvo in the non-feature film category. The band will also perform at the festival.
