Rajkumar Santoshi's Ladies and Gentleman might be delayed

Ever since Amitabh Bachchan tweeted on micro-blogging site that his loving bahuAishwarya is gonna become a mother soon, the entire film fraternity have park themselves to take note of how the flick trade could be pretentious because of the actress’s present condition.Aishwarya Rai has two movies in her kitty at the moment, one being, Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine and Rajkumar Santoshi's Ladies And Gentleman. While work on Heroine has already taken shape, but on the other side, Rajkumar Santoshi haven’t started film’s shooting.

Madhur Bhandarkar has mentioned that he had roped in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Heroine last month, and the movie went on floors earlier this month. As soon as Madhur came to know about the latest news he immediately mapped out a strategy to complete the film in a single schedule of 45 days. A source revealed that just fifteen days shoot of Heroine is not completed. Being an average budget movie, Heroine won't be affected in any big manner. On the other side, producers Madhur and Ronnie Screwvala of UTV have invested around Rs 18 crore in the movie.According to the buzz, Aish's character is showcased to be a depressed alcoholic, so in addition Madhur decided to shoot the actress with broad angle shots with a second camera to do the close-ups so that she did not have to shoot variations of the same scenes again.

The major problem for Madhur Bhandarkar could occur when it comes to promotion, by when the actress would be closer to her due date. Madhur will have to work harder when the promotional event will get started.The project that could infact come under force is Rajkumar Santoshi's Ladies And Gentleman where Aish was suppose to cast opoosite her husband Abhishek Bachchan, will perceptibly be delayed now and the filmmaker will almost certainly have to focus on another venture. Usually, Rajkumar Santoshi's movies are motivated and his investment begins from anywhere between Rs 40 crore to Rs 60 crore.So, now it seems like the fate of filmmakers and producers depend on Aishwarya’s comeback.

Abhi-Aish in Rajkumar Santoshi’s next

The latest news is that filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi’s chief assistant director Anand Srivastav, will soon be wearing the director’s cap. The film will be produced by Vipin Anand’s Flagship India. The movie is a comedy and will be shot in Mumbai and a village in Bhopal.


Anand Srivastav said that this is his first film and he is very excited about it. The script is almost ready and he will be starting shoot on the project as early as possible. However, Anand Srivastatv did not revealed the cast of the movie. He said that he’s already approaching stars and things will be finalised within ten days as assumed. He also said that will also be assisting Rajkumar Santoshi on the upcoming movies ‘Power’ and ‘Ladies and Gentleman’. Anand further added that he can't reveal much about the movie. Whereas, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai will soon seen as on-screen couple in Rajkumar Santoshi’s romantic comedy,“Ladies and Gentlemen”, which will go on floors in July as speculated.
Aishwarya met Rajkumar Santoshi a week ago and he told her that before she start giving her dates to other producers, the filmmaker first wanted to finalise the deal with the couple as Abhishek and Aishwarya are his dream pair since a long time. The actress have liked this script. Ladies and Gentlemen will be the star couple’s ninth movie together. Their last film together was Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, which bombed at the box office. And since their marriage, the couple has been suspicious of over- exposing brand Bachchan, maintaining that they’d work together only when a movie would offer them something new and challenging.
Earlier, Aishwarya had opted out of Dostana, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and Game. More recently, she had also refused a Vipul Shah film opposite her husband, suggesting he cast Katrina Kaif instead. In the year 2008, she had Jodhaa Akbar and Sarkar Raj. In 2009, Aishwarya was fitting in between the Hollywood flick, The Pink Panther 2, Raavan and the Tamil film, Raavanan. Last year there was Robot opposite Rajinikanth, Action Replayy with Akshay Kumar and Guzaarish with Hrithik Roshan. Madhur’s Heroine Shelved

Ace filmmaker who have enthralled the audiences with his successful films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion, etc and with his recent release Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, which was a romantic-comedy genre flick now Madhur Bhandarkar's forthcoming project Hroine continues to make news all around.


After Kareena Kapoor opted out of the film, it has been reported that Madhur Bhandarkar has decided to cast either Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Katrina Kaif in the lead role.Rumours have it that the Bollywood director is expected to discuss the general idea of the subject to Aishwarya Rai, before he meets Katrina Kaif. But the director however denies the news openly. Madhur asserted that still he has to decide what to make next. Therefore, the question of casting Aishwarya or Katrina doesn't stand anywhere. In fact, Madhur haven't even approached any of the actressess for the project. He also said that he is still thinking on what to make next. It could be a love story, it could be a comedy, it could be a realistic film, nothing has been graphed as yet.

Is there a war growing between Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif for the lead role in Heroine? Is it just a rumour? Or is there really some fact behind all the suspense? Madhur Bhandarkar actually shelved “Heroine” ever since things didn't quite work out well between the filmmaker and actress Kareena Kapoor. While Madhur was said to have moved on to other projects, there were many in the industry who were still hopeful that Heroine would turn to life someday. Madhur Bhandarkar as well as UTV are taking a diplomatic stand while not quite taking any names.

Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO of UTV Motion Pictures, who’s dating Vidya Balan for sometime now said that the team at UTV are committed to working with Madhur on a movie and they are together considering various options. The same attitude is maintained by Madhur as well. For the filmmaker, the subject of Heroine is close to his heart. And he may have shelved the movie for a short period, but he would definitely want to make it in future. We hope that Madhur would once again come up with something new and different as he always do…

Rituparno to rope in Aish

Rituparno Ghosh is a famous Bengali filmmaker. The director has directed has directed Bollywood films like Raincoat, Dahan, Chokher Bali, Utsab, Asukh, Antarmahal and Bariwali. Now the director is looking forward to work with Aishwarya Rai for his next.


Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the perfect combination of beauty and brains. So, it didn't surprise many when the ace director Rituparno Ghosh roped the Bollywood diva in his movies Chokher Bali and Raincoat respectively. Now, Rituparno Ghosh is ready to sign the gorgeous actress for his new flick which is based on the book 'Devi Chaudhurani' by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. Aishwarya Rai has been reportedly approached by Rituparno Ghosh during her visit to Kolkata along with her husband Abhishek Bachchan. So, a big challenge has come on the way for the actress.

Vishal ropes in Aish

Demand for Bollywood gorgeous actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan never seems to end. Even after Raavan fell below expectations still Aishwarya Rai continues to be in demand. The latest name to be added to the list is of Vishal Bhardwaj.

According to the sources Aishwarya has been offered movies by Vishal on two occasions. Once for his debut flick and once in the in the very recently - Saat Khoon Maaf, a film that now has gone to Priyanka Chopra due to Aish’s hectic schedule.
Aishwarya asserted that, Vishal and she have been wanting to work together for quite some time.

Guzaarish a copy from Hollywood

After a gap of almost three years, renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is now ready to impress the audience with his next film, Guzaarish, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. As the film is salted for a November release, latest buzz is that the plot of the flick is inspired by Christopher Nolan's The Prestige.

The movie, reportedly, is a Hindi version of the 2006 hit flim, starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. The story of 'The Prestige' revolves around the fight between two magicians..The news is that Hrithik Roshan plays a magician in Guzaarish.

But, according to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's script Hrithik is shown as a paraplegic patient, named Ehan. Aishwarya Rai will be playing the role of a married nurse.
The movie also stars newcomers Monikangana Dutta and Aditya Roy Kapoor playing pivotal roles.

Guzaarish to be released on 17 November

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided to release his much awaited film Guzaarish on 17th November, 2010. It has been reported that Sanjay Leela Bhansali and UTV are likely to break the rules and regulations with the film, which features Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles.



It is said that Guzaarish is coming two weeks after Diwali this year. So it's gonna be a Wednesday release despite of a Friday. But if Sanjay Leela Bhansali and UTV have something like a change of mind, Guzaarish may arrive on a Friday respectively.

Vipul Shah who impressed the audiences and critics with the films Waqt: The Race Against Time, Namastey London and Singh Is Kinng is now directing Aishwarya and Akshay Kumar in Action Replayy. Vipul Shah also said that working with Aishwarya has been a revelation. She has been very dedicated towards her work. A movie that travels in time is not really easy for actors. Also with Akshay, Aishwarya makes an attractive on-screen jodi.

RITUPARNO GHOSH

Rituparno Ghosh is one of the contemporary Bengali directors in India. Starting his career in the year 1992 the well admired director has been recognized for his works worldwide.




Rituparno Ghosh was born and brought up in Kolkata. He studied at south point high school and later joined Jadavar Uiversity to pursue his education in economics. Both his parents were closely associated with filmdom. His father was a documentary filmmaker.

Rituparno Ghosh has always professed that he has admired the works of Ingmar Bergman, Krzysztof Kie Lowski, Bille August, Quentin Tarantino, Abbas Kiarostami, Jafar Panahi, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Wong Kar-Wai and Pedro Almodovar.

In a little over a decade, Rituparno Ghosh has established himself as one of the best directors in contemporary Indian cinema. Though he has largely worked in Bengali, his native language, with stories and themes that are rooted in Bengali culture, his films have broken geographical and linguistic barriers by reaching national and international film festivals.

Though his first film Hirer Angti (The Diamond Ring), made in 1992, a children’s film won an international award, it failed to get a public release in theatres. However, the film was later shown several times over at small festivals for children’s films and also on the small screen. Unishe April went on to win the Swarna Kamal or the National Award for Best Film as well as Best Actress for Debashree Roy.

A unique element in a Rituparno Ghosh script is its distinct structure, which changes with every film he directs. Unishe April opened with the shocking scene of an untimely and sudden death. Whispers and hushed tones underscored the grief of a little girl in shock, till we were surprised to discover that the entire unfolding was in flashback. The narrative of Dahan is sandwiched between letters penned by one of the two main female characters to her sister away in Canada. It is in Utsab (2000), that one finds Rituparno in total control.

Based on his own story, Titli (2002) offers the usual Rituparno fare of a filial relationship in conflict being resolved in the end. But the ambience is unusual. For the first time in his career, Rituparno moves his script beyond the confines of the four walls to shoot it almost completely on location among the scenic landscape of Kurseong. Raincoat (2004, Hindi) starring Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai, was an unabashed plagiarization of The Gift of the Magi with suitable shifts in time, relocation, characterization, storyline and socio-cultural backdrop.

In an interview , he told us that “Chokher Bali (2003) was been a long-time dream-come-true for me. I love to make films on subjects I understand the most. I feel I understand the inner feelings of women, their passion, agony and sufferings.”

Today, Rituparno Ghosh is the only filmmaker in Bengali cinema to have successfully transcended the borders of language, culture and casting to make films in Hindi and English.

Vipul Shah - The Film Maker

Vipul Amrutlal Shah (sometimes also known as Vipul Shah) is a film
producer, writer and director of Hindi movies. As of now, he has
directed and produced only four Hindi films but all of them have been
hugely successful.



All of his films have one thing in common. They all star Akshay Kumar.
Director was praised by the critics in his debut film Aankhen which
was the 5 biggest hit of 2002. He wrote and directed Aankhen (2002)
which was based on a Gujarati play Andhalo Pato about a bank robbery
by three blind men. Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005) was again
inspired by a play but was an average runner at the box office. Both
movies starred Amitabh Bacchan and Akshay Kumar. His next two films
Namastey London and Singh Is Kinng also did well at the Box Office.

He is currently married to Shefali Shetty.

Vipul Shah intialily started of with a soap opera 'Ek Mahal Ho Sapno
Ka',aired on Sony Entertaintment Channel.The serial went on to be the
longest running family drama with over 1000 episodes. He is now the
producer of Comedy Circus and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa on Sony TV Asia.

In 2001, he wrote the screenplay for the successful Tamil movie
Minnale that was remade in Hindi as Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein.

He is working with Asin, Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan in London Dreams
that is a film based on rock stars, to be released in 2009. His other
release in 2009 is Action Replay with Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai and
Arjun Rampal.

Vipul Shah rebukes Aishwarya

After Aishwarya Rai repeatedly reported late to the sets of Action Replay, director Vipul Shah decided to teach her the importance of punctuality. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would always come late to the sets. On days when she came on time, Aishwarya would spend most of her time doing up her hair, make-up and clothes while everybody kept waiting for her.

The unit is shooting with Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya at ND Studios, Karjat. Vipul Shah is extremely particular about shooting the scenes aesthetically. He was fed up of waiting for hours for Aishwarya.

The day Aishwarya Rai came to the sets, Vipul shot precisely for a minute before declaring pack-up. Aishwarya was surprised that Vipul had made her get ready only to shoot with her for a minute. Vipul was so irritated on the actress that he said, ‘Apne sets pe sab time par aate hain aur sab time par jaate hain.’ But at the same time the director denied the story and said, This is totally false.
Aishwarya has an extraordinary look in the film. She took time to get ready because of which the unit had planned the shoots accordingly. In fact, the actress is working 15 hours every day for my film. She is extremely professional and Vipul is delighted to work with her.

Mani Ratnam health improves

Renowned film director Mani Ratnam was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Tuesday night after complaining of breathing problems and discomfort in chest, is recuperating and would be allowed to resume work after resting for a couple of days.



"Doctors said there was nothing to panic and the director is healthy," Ratnam's spokesman Nikhil Murugan said.

Mr. Ratnam (52) was admitted to a hospital last night after he complained of "breathing difficulty" and discomfort in the chest.

The director, who introduced Oscar-winning musician A R Rahman in "Roja", had survived a heart attack in 2004 when he was filming the multi-starrer, bi-lingual 'Yuva'.

Mr. Mani Ratnam is currently involved in a project, tentatively titled 'Ravan' that stars national award winner Vikram, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, among others.

Mr. Ratnam, who has made block busters in Tamil and Hindi cinema, is known to make movies on controversial issues like the Bombay riots in and terrorism-related subjects such as the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dil Se', 'Roja' and 'Kannathil Muthamittal'.
