Rajkumar Hirani edits the script for Munnabhai Chale Amerika

Seems like, Munnabhai won’t go to America, finally. After the grand success of 2006 release Lage Raho Munnabhai, producer-filmmaker jodi Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani had decided to make Munnabhai Chale Amerika. In the third part movie of the successful permit, Munna and Circuit, portrayed by actor Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi respectively were set to take a trip to the USA to meet the President.Now, writer-director Rajkumar Hirani who has also directed the award winning film 3 Idiots, has according to the sources edited his content completely,

and while he remained unavailable for comment, Arshad Warsi put himself forward saying that the fresh story has nothing to do with the USA or it’s President. There will be no USA in the next Munnabhai movie. As far as Arshad knows the matter, the flick’s script is completely changed. We wish that the things work in a positive way for the movie. As decided, the shooting for the film will most probably start by mid-2012. Munnabhai Chala Amerika had actually turned down with the idea of Munna meeting the US President, but the filmmaker later agreed that the viewpoint had been amended from the story after he found that actor Shahrukh Khan was also seen meeting the President in his My Name Is Khan in a scene. Hirani’s wife in trouble

Many might not know that Bollywood filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s wife Manjeet Hirani works as a pilot for Air India, and it was really shocking to hear the news that during investigation on the fake pilot scandal Manjeet Hirani doesn’t know how to fly an airplane. According to the latest buzz, it has come in notice that some pilots have named Manjeet Hirani as a non-compliant of being a experienced licensed air plane pilot.


According to the reports approximately twelve pilots had written a letter to Authority of Air India requesting to discontinue Manjeet lamba Hiran’s services due to unprincipled behavior and lack of flying intelligence. Even the India premiere crime branch team is snooping matters as to who all are there involved in the scam which is putting the life of hundreds of people flying in an airplane at risk.

The story of Munnabhai, the lovable dude who pulled an exam racket to get into a medical college, has actually knocked at the doorstep of director Rajkumar Hirani who has also directed superhit film 3 Idiots. Air India pilot and his wife Manjeet Hiranis has been accused of failing a test to refurbish her flying license and then going on to clear the exam in a second attempt by changing the norms. The director after making 3 Idiots with ace actor Aamir Khan, is again roping the actor for his next project for which Aamir have already given his nod. Rajkumar Hirani has been busy with the third movie in Munnabhai series “Munnabhai Chale Amerika” is in process and a fresh script is being written because the storyline of Munnabhai 3 was same like what we saw in My Name is Khan. Though Aamir Khan is tarnished for not repeating his directors, and that is why now it will be interesting to see Aamir and the filmmaker working together again.

Hirani promotes bharat bandh

Hang on guys, Rajkumar Hirani is not turning to a politician but the filmmaker’s ad company Vanvas Films has recently made an ad titled ‘Bharat Bandh’- The first IPL ad of this season The ad campaign has been directed by ‘Quickgun Murugun’ director Shashank Ghosh and showcased the funny talks between the politicians across the country over who initiated the Bharat Bandh for 51 days.


Canvas Films head ad division Sanjeev Kishinchandani said that the concept of the advertisment is that there is confusion between politicians across the country that who has announced the 51 days Bharat Bandh and every one rubbished the buzz when they finally realized that Bharat will be closed for 51 days automatically due to IPL, that’s the fever of IPL in India. The filmmaker has decided to rope in Aamir Khan in his upcoming project. Aamir had worked with the director earlier in 3 Idiots, which was declared as the successful hit of the year.

Arshad Warsi seems to be in full swing as the funny character, ‘Circuit’, in Rajkumar Hirani’s Munnabhai series made the actor a household name, but Arshad Warsi is tired of doing comedy and is scouting for serious roles now. Some interesting facts about the filmmaker states that after FTII Rajkumar Hirani tried his luck as film editor for many years. He was also seen in a Fevicol advertisement where some men and elephants are trying to pull and break a fevicol plank saying "Jor laga ke Haisha".

He was seen doing good in advertisement business but the director wanted to make films so he took break from advertisement and started working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Rajkumar Hirani had also worked on promos and trailers for 1942: A Love Story. He edited promo's for Kareeb as well. He then got big break as film editor with Mission Kashmir.

Rajkumar Hirani directed the very popular film ‘Munnabhai MBBS’, ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, and ‘3 Idiots’, which became the highest grossing film ever in India when it was released. Back in 2005, when Rajkumar Hirani was directing the movie Lage Raho Munnabhai there was a lot of scepticism on the sets.

In a scene, Munna and Circuit are shown drinking and Munna, in his rowdy manner, ask Bapu to leave them alone. Friends who dropped by on the sets were worried that Rajkumar Hirani had overstepped the boundaries of Indian sensibilities, especially when it comes to Mahatma Gandhi . But Hirani didn’t bother much about what people around him said. Rajkumar Hirani's last release, 3 Idiots, grossed in Rs. 339 crore worldwide. In many ways, after a successful run like that — and in a few cases, even without it — movie makers in tinsel town are known to veer towards cynicism or arrogance.

They become predictable and start taking things for granted. But Hirani has remained grounded in reality. Lage Raho Munnabhai was being screened at Cannes. The movie had already been released in India and had become a major blockbuster. The filmmaker plays down his success and believes that he has been fortunate, as his movies are both critically acclaimed and successful.

Rajkumar Hirani back to his roots

Making outstanding films 3 Idiots and Munna Bhai, the ace and flawless filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is returning to his ad filmmaking once again, from where he started his career in cinema. The Bollywood director said that he loves the challenge of telling a story in sixty seconds.


Rajkumar Hirani has now started a separate ad division to direct ad films, headed by Sanjeev Kishinchandani under the banner of Canvas films. Rajkumar Hirani, who directed Kareena Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan in his previous ad films, asserted that he have really enjoyed telling a story in 60 seconds. Entire process has been very exciting, rejuvenating and with Canvas Films, his entire team and he is just exploring the love for moving image.

Hirani joins Madhavan

Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani was seen with actor R.Madhavan on Imagine’s finale of Big Money along with stars from the superhit movie 3 Idiots. Rajkumar Hirani was accompanied with Boman Irani, Sharman Joshi and Mona Singh on the show.

The team of 3 Idiots came to play with an aim to win big capital and donate the money to Druks School, Leh where the major sequence of 3 Idiots was shot. The star cast was given a special insurance called Ask Chatur which allowed them to call Omi Vaidya for help.

Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra hit the track

On last Wednesday Bollywood film 3 Idiots was declared the most popular movie that provided wholesome entertainment at the 57th National Film Awards and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said that it was a very proud moment for his production house. Do you know that it is Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's third national honour as director and producer respectively.


Earlier, their movies Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai too had won the national award. Rajkumar Hirani on this overwhelming news quoted, “it’s extremely humbling when the audience loved and cherised this film so much and now we are also getting recognised by getting a National Award."Swanand Kirkire was declared the Best Lyricist for penning the beautiful song Behti hawa sa for 3 Idiots. Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots had broken all records by grossing over Rs.450 crore.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra who just returned from the US where he was working on pre-production of his next movie, was very happy to be welcomed in such a way with this great news. Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani also played pivotal roles in the film.

Raju keen to cast Aamir again

The Munnabhai director Rajkumar Hirani has recently been put at numero uno on Bollywood power list of directors by Filmfare magazine. Asked about which star he’s gonna cast for his next project, superstar Shahrukh Khan or will it be the perfectionist Aamir Khan.


To this the director said that even though he considered Aamir Khan the best, he had to write a script before casting the lead hero. The noted filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani said that his film 3 Idiots grossed 5 billion Rupees.

Now the question arises that is Rajkumar Hirani’s next film really based on 300 gods? Raju is also working on another Munnabhai script....We hope that the director will agin spell his magic on the audiences....

Rajkumar Hirani to make a film on Gods

The latest news about Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani is that he is now going to make a movie on the Gods of the Hindu pantheon. The flick will be as it is said is a humourous take on how people worship so many God and Godesses and the problems it creates in the society.

Rajkumar Hirani has already discussed the idea with his close associate Abhijat Joshi, who is credited with writing 3 Idiots and the two have started work on the script as reported. Meanwhile, the filmmaker is also working on the third installment of the Munnabhai series, Munnabhai Chale Amrika.

Aamir Hirani's Munnabhai

The most talented Bollywood filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has always served super-entertaining movies to the audience and this time the director is planning the remake of the super-hit movie, ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ as ‘Munnabhai Chale Amreeka’. Rajkumar Hirani have plans to cast his favorite actor, Aamir Khan in place of Sanjay Dutt and Sharman Joshi in place of Arshad Warsi.


Rajkumar Hirani carries interesting notes with the main highlights of his superhit flicks ‘3 idiots’, and ‘Lago Raho Munnabhai’. Rajkumar Hirani becomes a teacher

Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani is an expert whether creating a movie or switching roles. Rajkumar Hirani was recently requested to offer a summer class on cinema at his son’s school, Singapore International and he agreed to give a weeklong course.


His son Veer was part of the class that was attended by over a hundred students from class six to tenth respectively. Rajkumar Hirani told that they wouldn’t have learnt anything in one or two classes.

The first two days the class was about the understanding of cinema, how to do a brain storming session to write a plotline, followed by tips on how to create a screenplay, shooting the film and finally, editing it.

For Rajkumar Hirani directing a film and teaching are two different professions that are apart from each other.

Guess what our Bollywood director receives a mysterious gift landed from overseas. A sentimental plea posted with a prayer from halfway from Australia at Rajkumar Hirani’s home in Mumbai, India. Kanti Hirani, a resident of New South Wales, Australia, had a strong hunch that Rajkumar Hirani was connected in some way to his family.

So Kanti Hirani decided to post pictures and a CD containing pictures of his extended family in the hope that Rajkumar Hirani would recognise some of them. Unfortunately, Kanti didn’t have Rajkumar’s address.

So when the parcel was addressed to ‘Rajkumar Hirani, director of 3 Idiots and Munnabhai, Santa Cruz’. This whole episode has left the director stunned.

Rajkumar Hirani was completely astonished as he was surprised too. The director kept wondering just how much effort the postal department must have taken to make sure he got the parcel, because, Rajkumar lived in Bandra East and not Santa Cruz.

While Rajkumar Hirani’s movies have generated a big fan following for him and he receives so many letters from all over the world, this letter is like cherry on the cake.

All izzz well

The first look of Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots recently got unveiled at a press conference at Metro which saw an enthusiastic response. The story of the film is based on three students at an engineering college which are portrayed by Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi.

All these three stars rubbished rumours of a fight between the director Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan. Rajkumar Hirani added to his statement that Aamir had even helped him out with the sub-titling of the film.

Vinod Chopra too expressed his gratitude towards Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan saying that it was a big pleasure working with actor like him. The movie that has been acquired by Reliance Big Pictures is set to hit the big screen on December 25. We can say that all is well....

Rajkumar Hirani - Man Behind Munnabhai

Rajkumar Hirani is a National Award and Filmfare Award winning Indian ace filmmaker, screen-writer and film-producer of Hindi films, best known as the creator of the Munna Bhai series.

He is associated with Vinod Chopra Productions.

He was born in Nagpur and studied there up to graduation. He then joined the Film and Television Institute of India at Pune where he specialized in film editing.

He began his career in Mumbai as an editor and gradually established himself as a director and producer of advertising films. He was also seen in some TV advertsements.

He has served the role of editor and creative producer of some great films like Parineeta, Mission Kashmir, Eklavyya, Kareeb and 1942:A Love Story.

He is currently working on his latest film with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor titled as 3 idiots.
