Piggy Chops will not be seen in 2 States

In December last year, it was reported how Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra after being signed for the lead role in Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's ‘Two States’ suddenly backed out, all thanks goes to the lead star Shahrukh Khan and his faith that the script of the movie required a talented actress. Appears as if, Bollywood baadshah has now had a change of feel. SRK not only suggested on having Priyanka on board again, but also persuaded the actress to take up the offer without thinking much.

Vishal Bhardwaj and Priyanka Chopra
Vishal Bhardwaj’s 7 Khoon Maaf that starred Piggy Chops playing the main lead was a dud at the box office and that could also be one of the reasons that PC decided to turn down the offer. The fact that she is a Punjabi kudi and the character was that of a South Indian girl, also worked against her. However, looks like Shahrukh Khan's reference has conquered all weirdness. But both the filmmaker and Shahrukh are convinced that Priyanka can carry on the South Indian character well. They feel she holds the flexibility. And PC will learn how to speak Tamil. Even producer Sajid Nadiadwala is influenced that Priyanka can take the role to great heights. There is a great members involved, including Shahrukh Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bharadwaj and Piggy Chops admitted that she will definitely plan to work with them at some time in the future.

However at this time, Priyanka stated that she’s just committed to finishing her current projects on hand, which include Kunal Kohli's next Barfee, and Krrish2. 2 States: The Story of My Marriage is the third Chetan Bhagat novel to motivate a film, after Hello, based on his book ‘One Night @ The Call Centre’ and the superhit 3 Idiots, aroused by Chetan’s bestseller ‘Five Point Someone.’ If Priyanka Chopra had decided to do 2 States, it would have been her third flick based on a novel. The first was as told Ashutosh Gowariker's What's Your Rashee?, based on Madhu Rye's Kimball Ravenswood, than came Vishal Bhardwaj’s 7 Khoon Maaf, inspired by Ruskin Bond's short story Susanna's Seven Husbands.

The Munnabhai director Rajkumar Hirani has recently been put at numero uno on Bollywood power list of directors by Filmfare magazine. Asked about which star he’s gonna cast for his next project, superstar Shahrukh Khan or will it be the perfectionist Aamir Khan.

To this the director said that even though he considered Aamir Khan the best, he had to write a script before casting the lead hero. The noted filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani said that his film 3 Idiots grossed 5 billion Rupees.

The hostile feeling is over

The very talented Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan and Vidhu Vinod Chopra will finally work together. SRK has refused Kareeb, 1942-A Love Story, Munnabhai MBBS and 3 Idiots in past offered to him by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra
The animosity grew in more when the director criticized Paheli followed by Shahrukh trying to rope in Raj Kumar Hirani to direct his home production. Now it seems all is well between SRK and Vidhu Vinod Chopra and it is even heard that SRK has accepted his upcoming film Ferrari Ki Sawari.

The movie is a tale about how an Indian cricket legend’s Ferrari makes a young boy’s dream of playing cricket at Lords come true. The film is also loosely inspired by a bestseller. Rajesh Mapuskar, who has been a longtime associate of director Rajkumar Hirani, will direct this flick ....

Bollywood Without Unity, says Anurag Kashyap!

The famous Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap opines that there is no need to go to Australia or Pakistan because one can be killed even in Mumbai by the Shiv Sena. According to him, the Shiv Sena tried to cast its shadow over “My name is Khan” and that was done to gain popularity and attention from media.

Anurag Kashyap

Anurag who has made some different kind of movies like Black Friday and Dev D, says that the Bollywood lacks unity and integrity. If it was united then no such targets had been made by Shiv Sena. Just after the statement of Shahrukh Khan regarding the Pak players, the Sena started reacting. It wanted Shahrukh to apologise for the statement. The Sena had also opposed the release of “My name is Khan”, starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol.

Anurag Kashyap also says that if Bollywood is an industry, it should show it's professional attitude and the unity among all its members but it never happens so and that is why other people take advantage of that.

I miss Shahrukh: Farah Khan

Have you ever watched a movie and said," OMG thats my life !" Well...You are not the only one.Farah Khan who is a film maker herself has her life penned down in a script long before anything had actually happened to her..Confused??
farah

Farah Khan had signed a movie titled "Jane Kahan Se Aayi Hai" long time ago and it turns out that the story of the movie replicates the incident when Farah signed Akshay for Tees Maar Khan since Shahrukh was not available at the time. She was quite sure that she would not work with anybody but SRK but eventually Tees Maar Khan happened.

It is rather surprising to know that Farah had already filmed for Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai wherein she plays herself, long before she became aware of the fact it resembles her current situation with Shahrukh.

Milap Zaveri who is the director of the flick talks about the film and says that Farah is playing herself and is making a movie after Om Shanti Om without Shahrukh in it.Instead an upcoming actor Desh(Ruslaan Mumtaz) is chosen as the lead who throws starry tantrums in the film which makes her miss SRK.She through out the movie thinks of SRK and expresses desire to work with the Superstar again.

When inquired whether the tiff between Farah and Sharukh is for real,Milap Zaveri replies saying that they had started filming for the movie a year ago and the fact that Akshay is now working with Farah is a complete coincidence. He emphasized that Farah and SRK are good friends and the audience will be happy to see them working together again.

Karan Johar turns 37

Karan Johar turned 37 this year on May 25, 2009.

On the auspicious occasion, we will trace back his cinematic journey talking elaborately about his current work and projects.

The son of acclaimed producer Yash Johar, Karan, under his home banner Dharma Productions, has given the industry some of the top grossing romantic films of all time.

These days Karan is all set to bring back the hit jodi of all time SRK and Kajol after a span of 8 years in his upcoming directorial venture My Name is Khan. The director is also producing some much anticipated films such as Saif Ali Khan and Kareena starrer Qurbaan and Konkona
Sen’s and Ranbir Kapoor’s Wake Up Sid.

Karan belongs to commercial stream of cinema. As a kid also, Karan was influenced by commercial Indian cinema, and he cites Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra and Sooraj R. Barjatya as his inspirations.

He made his acting debut in Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) in an inconspicious role. He soon realized that his true talent lay behind the camera and made his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani

He banked on his two favourite actors and close friends Shah Rukh and Kajol as his lucky charms, but still managed to bring out great performances from actors such as Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Abhishek Bachchan.

For a long time, Karan was fixated with the letter ‘K’ due to his numerlogical beliefs, but after watching Lage Raho Munnabhai, Johar decided to stop this practice. He also successfully dabbled in TV, with his show Koffee with Karan, where he interviewed the biggest stars in the Industry in his very own style.

Here’s wishing the Karan Johar A Rocking birthday!
