Fate of Race Sequel – ‘Dizzy’

Abbas Mustan

Reportedly, Kareena Kapoor replaced Katrina Kaif opposite Saif Ali Khan in the sequel of Race that was titled Race 2, while the remaining cast was yet to be finalized.

It was the directors duo-Abbas Mustan , who first hinted about options for a Race sequel. However, unable to come to a consensus, producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips and the directors are now rethinking their plans to make Race 2. The latest on the subject is that the producer is looking for other directors to make the sequel.

After the huge success of the multi starrer film in 2008, there were reports that Ramesh Taurani had asked the director duo to think of ways of taking the plot further. It is not clear why Abbas Mustan will not direct the sequel. It would have been the logical next step. The climax of Race was open ended and two of the main protagonists who supposedly get killed weren't actually shown dead on screen. Also, the relationship between the other two protagonists too was left open.

A source close to Ramesh Taurani said, “A final decision on the director for Race 2 has not yet been taken.”

Abbas Mustan and Ramesh Taurani haven’t yet confirmed the buzz.
